    Responsibilities

    As a Key Contributor You Will work to create firmware on embedded hardware modules for multiple ground and flight components, including user interfaces, avionics, lighting, sensors, vehicle control, and other systems. 

     

    Key Responsibilities and Activities

    • Define and implement high performance software by leveraging a strong understanding of embedded hardware design
    • Plans, improves and manages software applications from inception to use
    • Preparation and creation of instructional technical manuscripts for firmware operation
    • Support project initiatives collaborating with the rest of the design team ensuring that development milestones and deadlines are met
    • Evaluate product non-conformances and recommend design modifications
    • Evaluate, test, and review designs to determine if program will perform according to requirements and specifications
    • Develop, communicate and document project strategies and plans
    • Maintain accurate records throughout the development process in order to comply with company and government standards and/or regulations

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics or engineering with 3-5 years’ experience
    • Programming skills and familiarity with computer languages used for application development
    • Experience with assembly level and C language development including the tools used to edit, compile/assemble and debug code in an embedded environment
    • Experience in onboard electrical architectures for vehicle systems such as robots, aircraft or spacecraft, or automobiles and motorcycles
    • Strong documentation skills
    • Outstanding organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills

     

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Knowledge of Embedded coder, Simulink, autocode generation process, RTE generation, and bootloaders.
    • Knowledge of ANSI-C, CANbus and Canalyser, Canoe, and Misra
    • Familiarity with the ISO 26262 specification.
