The successful candidate must be able to apply standard electrical engineering troubleshooting principles, utilize experiments and
various analysis tools to develop HILS (Hardware In The Loop Simulation) configurations. Additionally, support of the development test
procedures required to validate integrated control systems on target ECUs to ensure they meet acceptance criteria is expected.
Understanding of any collected data necessary to formulate judgements on expected control system behavior would be required. In some
cases, it may become necessary to analyze/compare the results, identify discrepancies and explain probable reasons why the response is
not as expected.
BS Degree in ME / EE. Minimum of 1+ years of industry experience in Hardware In the Loop Simulation ( HILS ) and specific real-time
simulation software usage depending on department speciality area. Minimum of 1 year of experience using software tools for standard
HILS model and bench construction, visualization, and analysis.
While and entry-level engineer with limited professional experience is suitable to apply, a candidate should have an electrical degree
or have experience working with modern vehicle electronics. BSME, BSEE, or recent graduates of Electrical or Computer programs with
verified automotive software related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience will receive priority.
Proficiency with Matlab and Simulink is required. Familiarization with dSpace hardware and software is very highly valued. In addition,
the ability to work with application-based interfaces (API) or higher-level programming languages would be helpful. CAN based
communications and serial communication understanding are beneficial. Basic PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical
software) and ability to support project deadlines are required. Experience with HILS and control software rapid-prototyping tools
(dSPACE toolchain, etc.), plus data acquisition systems (INCA, CANalyzer, etc.) is a plus. Ability to travel and work overtime may be
