Responsibilities

Lead the Parts Department operations by managing associate performance, fiscal responsibility, compliance requirements, and implementing & executing the strategic direction from division leadership.  This role collaborates heavily with both internal and external partners for decision-making and general collaboration and support

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Implementation and execution of Divisional Strategic direction for the Parts Department.
  • Fiscal responsibility of Department operations ensuring financial transactions and inventory positions are meeting guidelines and month-end closing targets.
  • Associate management and leadership including long-term professional development and mentoring.
  • Building strong internal and external business relationships collaborating heavily with other Departments, international trade partners, suppliers and domestic clients.
  • Creation and execution of operational improvement plans that align with Division objectives and direction.
  • Compliance and governance of Department operations with a focus on expanding accountability and fostering a compliance mindset across the department.
  • Communicating with Other Department(s) both domestic and international to understand project status, plans and any potential or actual delivery and quality issues.
  • Regular reporting to Senior Manager and Department leadership on project status updates, problems, etc.
  • Join associates and other Department meetings with current / potential clients.
  • Oversee Department compliance activities (NDA’s, 5-Rules, Contracts, IMDS, Conflict Minerals, New Business Sheet, etc.) to make sure they are carried out timely (before, during, after) quotation and development periods and completed prior to mass production.
  • Collect, organize and track weekly associate reports on project / quotation status. Maintain running summary of potential sales by Model, By Client Segment, by Timing, by Method of RFQ receipt, etc.
  • Utilize Cost database and related tools to enhance speed and accuracy of quotations.
  • Gather information and analytics to clearly understand client needs, directions, requests, and future needs while also clearly understand client's regional and global network, capabilities and systems and effectively post/share/transfer.
  • Discuss client circumstances and environment so that costing/quoting can be done effectively and timely.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 10+ years-experience in the Automotive OEM or International Trading Environment with strong knowledge of international logistics, new model development and quality and inventory management.
  • 2+ years-experience of associate leadership, management and long-term development.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field or equivalent experience. 

Required Skills:

  • Firm understanding or experience of Global Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International and Manufacturing environments, Cost Analysis, Packaging, Sales Analytics, Quotation development, Project Management, and Procurement methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Honda Trading and Honda operations including quality standards.
  • Detailed industry (automotive/new product development, logistics and procurement) knowledge and awareness of current and upcoming trends.
  • Ability to formulate, present and execute long-term strategy.
  • Exceeding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with an ability to deliver clear and concise message.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions on complex and at times high pressure situations.
  • Experience with inventory planning and warehouse management in a lean environment.
  • Recent experience using Microsoft Office (primarily Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Global dexterity and ability to adapt behavior in light of cultural differences.
  • Ability to travel 25% of time visiting current and potential Clients (domestic & international).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multinational team environment.

 Desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of global import/export regulations.
  • Purchasing certifications (ISM or similar)
  • MBA
