This role will support engineering design and development activities.

Essential Duties: (This list is not exhaustive and other duties may be assigned)

  • Support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, perform design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation. 
  • Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.
  • Travel to client sites required.



  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6+ months relevant internship experiences or Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years recent applicable work experience or Associate’s degree and 3+ years recent applicable work experience. 
  • Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing. 
  • Experience using 3-D modeling software tools (CATIA V5 preferred).
  • Exposure to DFM (Design for Manufacturing) preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS office


  • AS Degree/Certification in Design or Engineering Technology or related field. CATIA V5 (8+ years experience or 16,000 hours of CATIA).
  • Workbenches: GSD, FTA, part pesign. Drafting exposure to various technologies as required by the dept. speciality area (stamping, injection molding, forging, casting, etc.) which shall include:
  • Forming requirements, tooling requirements, cost drivers.
  • Ability quickly to adapt to new tools and processes so as to enable efficient vehicle development. Assist design engineer(s) by making recommendations with consideration towards manufacturing feasibility by considering formability.
  • Create layouts and part geometry based upon requests, requirements or the direction of the design engineer PIC for the part.
  • CatiaV5 - VPM Navi - Catia Expert in: Advanced Solid & Surfacing, Meshing, Sheet Metal, Draft Analysis, Digital Mockup (SPA)
  • Manufacturing Knowledge - Sheet Metal (forming, stamping, welding), Injection Mold, Blow Mold, Pipe Forming, Process Control
  • Engineering Capability - Tolerance Stack-up, Part Design (function, cost, weight), Materials.
